I see that diminutive diva Prince is performing 21 concerts in London over the summer and to ensure that everyone can afford to go tickets will be priced £31.21. He has said it will be the "last" time he will be performing his greatest hits - he has found god ya see and wants to go off travelling and reading the bible but i bet after 5 days he is begging for the new Harry Potter book! I went to see Prince years ago when he was merely known as symbol and i have to say he was a tad bit crap - he dragged each song out for 10 minutes and it all got a bit dull.

I cant really do my blog this week without mentioning Tony Blair. He is stepping down on the 27th June and for the next 5 weeks the press are going to be pulling his last 10 years to pieces, looking at the legacy he is leaving with us. Speaking as a gay i have to say that although Blair has made many mistakes, he has done a HUGE amount for lesbian, gay ans bisexual people and this cannot go ignored. The equalisation of the age of consent, the legislation around provision of goods and services, the repeal of section 28, the end of the military ban and of course the introduction of civil partnerships - for these changes i for one am truly grateful. I cant quite believe it's been 10 years - i remember when Labour came into power - that night i was working behind the bar at Sheffield University Students Union - how things have changed!!

On to more pressing issues now - "Hollyoaks" - there long running gay storyline is again hotting up. Gay boy John Paul is about to get it on with his fantasy piece and i thought i was all set for a conversion storyline, ya know the usual gay boy gets straoght boy drunk and puts his hand in his pants but no apparently it is going to be quite the opposite - straighty is going to lead all the way!!
