Refreshing, Rehearsing and Reflecting

Well there goes another weekend! It was a really good one!! Saturday was quite a nice sunny day, I had a bit of a lazy morning. Finally got the chance to phone my friend Missy Dan Jackson for a gossippy chin wag which was long overdue, Was great to catch up and have a proper good laugh! Hopefully Miss Thing will be coming down to London Village quite a lot over the next few months and i can only imagine the carnage. There is a gutter and a skip in Soho with our names written all over it!!

Saturday afternoon Oliver came over so we could get ready for our Scissor Sisters experience!! Off we trolled into town! First we met up with our friend Paul who was in London for the weekend plus Tony, Clare and Glenn for a few beers, it was good to see the gang together though far too brief.

Just after 6 me and Oli minced down to Trafalgar Square to get a good position for the Sisters, They did keep us waiting for what seemed like an age but we did manage to get right at the front. Kylie introduced them on stage but alas we were at the wrong side of the stage so totally missed the lil pop princess. The Sisters were fantastic!! Really lively performers and fascinating to watch. BabyDaddy exceeded all expectations and i must admit to staring at him in a totally unhealthy way but hey whats a homo to do?

The concert finished at 10 and we hot footed it to Trash Palace for a much needed beer, Then attempted to get into G-A-Y Late bar which i have never made it into cos the queue is usually round the block and they employ one of the worst breeds in London - Bouncers with too much power! We gave it up in the end and stupidly went to Element bar for a bottle of wine which totally finished us off and then had the biggest nightmare ever trying to get home! Grrrr!!

Sunday i woke up feeling surprisingly ok, but there was no time to waste - i had a rehearsal to get to! The routine for Pete's party is really taking shape now and although we soent most of the time laughing at each other, there were a few moments of true inspiration. We are calling ourselves the Madonna Twins and are now the headline act at the party. Just over a month to go now so we have some major outfit buying to do!

After our arduous rehearsal we went into town to meet Pete and had a few beers before heading down to the Thames to catch the fireworks that marked the end of the weekends Thames Festival, They were pretty good fireworks but we did look like 3 total steamers sat on a bench drinking stella and laughing our heads off at tales of childhood chip butty consumption.

I got home last night having had a great weekend, feeling grateful for having such good friends but also reflecting, It seems at the moment that nearly all my friends are single and it is quite a strange state of affairs. I have been single for a LONG time and although i love going out and getting wasted and having a good time, I do wonder when a relationship will be heading my way.
I have totally lost faith in the internet! Guys are either only after one thing or they appear to be interested and then disappear off the face of the earth. Meeting single gay men in London should be easy but it is quite the opposite. If i was just after a quick anonymous fumble that would not be a problem but meeting a guy and getting to know him by going on dates is a whole other matter. Out on the gay scene, men tend to be in their little cliques and trying to wrench them out of their safety zone is a challenge that i have not yet met with great confidence.

I have not given up hope and i truly believe that i shall meet someone when i least expect it, that is how it has always happened in the past. Maybe when i go out i just stink of desperate or maybe i am just as guilty of the clique too. I always go out with good groups of mates and we laugh, we laugh a lot - i guess trying to infiltrate that would also be a challenge, I just hope that one day some guy will be able to get in!

I think i am turning into Carrie Bradshaw now so i shall shut up, get my head out of the dumps and my legs in the air!

I am off the see the wonderful Helen Mirren tonight in "The Queen", it is supposed to be fantastic so a full review will be here tomorrow.

Try and have a happy monday people.

Kisses xx
