Ok so it like totally turns out that the flooding in Sheffield is a lot more serious than i was making out yesterday. The main shopping centre called Meadowhall (locals refer to it as Meadowhell) is flooded, Sheffield Wednesday ground is totally covered in water, Thousands of homes are still without electricity and sadly 3 people have lost their lives in this shocking weather. I have never seen anything like this happen in Sheffield and it feels very strange to be sat in London looking on as people come to terms with what has happened. Thankfully it seems that my friends and family are all fine and have not been hit too badly with the damage.

here is the ground floor of the meadowhall shopping centre

I am sooo excited - thanks to my ever growing obsession with one Mr Wainwright i managed to get pre sale tickets for his October tour today! I am seeing him in Sheffield and London and cant wait! The man is a genius!

Next week is goig to be crazy gig wise - on Tuesday i go and see the sparkling diva that is Tori Amos!! and then on thursday it will be time for a bit of JustinTimberlake action! Closely followed by Wembley Stadium for Live Earth with Razorlight, Snow Patrol, Red Hot Chilli Peppers and of course Madonna!! Then the day after that i am dashing to Sheffield to join my friend Matt for his birthday - i say i am going to go every year and never make it and he has always made the effort to come down to London so it's about time i strapped on a pair and behaved like a friend.

So Paris Hilton is again out of jail to a mass media frenzy! There is not much to say about this other than "whatever" - she is being interviewed by Larry King in America and will no doubt cry her eyes out and claim she has found jesus over the last few weeks. Lets see how long it takes for her to be pictured falling out of a nightclub into her car!

I can't let today go by without mentioning the fact that we have like totally got a new Prime Minister! I am not exactly known for my appreciation of the cut throat world of British politics but its a big day and deserves a mention even in my shallow little world. I just hope that Brown brings with him some creativity and enthusiasm and not such a George Bush ass licking blood thirsty hunger for war - heres hoping!!

xx
